This is a sound mimicking the new york city subway/mta announcement sound before a person comes on and says something over the speaker. Created with a marimba effect on a casio wk-3200.

The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door so as to capture some of the natural room sound/reverb (which is very subtle). I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed slightly off-axis to capture just a bit more room sound. Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).

The sound of me closing a door in my apartment. Smooth hinges with no creaking. You can hear the springy latching mechanism when it shuts completely. One of 15 takes; there are also 15 takes of opening this same door.

This sound is recorded with a h2 zoom and you could percieve the sound of openning and closing a wc door. You can perceive a closed space with resonances from some machine and where someone open a wc door and after a fews seconds door is closed.
